Questions we get before booking.
How much does a workshop cost?
Nothing. Every FFI workshop is free to the venue and to the students. That is not changing.
How long is a session?
The standard workshop is 60 minutes. We can extend or split it into a multi-part series if that fits your program better.
What ages do you serve?
Ages 10 to 18. We tune examples and depth to the group, whether that is 10 to 12, 13 to 15, or 16 to 18.
Where do you run workshops?
Libraries, schools, youth clubs, and community centers across Long Island. We also run virtual sessions on request.
What does the host actually have to do?
Provide a room, a group of students, and ideally a projector. That is the full ask. We bring curriculum, facilitators, and worksheets.
How far in advance do we need to book?
A few weeks is comfortable, but we can sometimes accommodate faster. Ask and we will tell you honestly.
Who teaches the workshop?
High school student facilitators from FFI, trained on our curriculum. When useful, we bring in guest speakers, including university faculty.
