Programs

Free, 60-minute financial literacy workshops for ages 10 to 18.

One curriculum, tuned by age group, delivered in the venues where students already spend time. Everything below is free to your venue.

How it works

What a booking actually looks like.

1

60 minutes, on your calendar

One session, roughly an hour, at a time that works for your group. Longer or multi-part formats on request.

2

Age-banded content

We tune depth and examples to the group, whether that is 10 to 12, 13 to 15, or 16 to 18.

3

Interactive, not a lecture

Live examples, quick group activities, and time for the questions students actually want to ask.

The curriculum

Seven topics we can cover, in any order.

Most venues start with saving and compound interest, then bring us back for the ones their students ask about most.

Saving and budgeting

The first paycheck, tracking where money actually goes, and simple rules that work at 12 or 22.

Compound interest

Why time is the loudest voice in the room, and how small habits add up when you start early.

Investing basics

Stocks, index funds, and risk in plain language. What a brokerage account actually is.

Credit and credit scores

How credit works, why the score exists, and the specific habits that build or wreck it.

Good debt vs. bad debt

Not all borrowing is bad. When debt is a tool and when it is a trap.

Taxes, explained

W-2s, brackets, and what those numbers on your paystub actually mean, without the jargon.

Spotting financial fraud

The scams young people actually see online. How to notice them and what to do next.

The framework

Anchored in the Lusardi and Mitchell "Big Three."

The curriculum was developed with input from Dr. Anand R. Marri, former Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Professor of Economic Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, and faculty at the University of Minnesota and the Wharton School. Every workshop is built around the three ideas academics use to frame financial literacy worldwide: compound interest, inflation, and risk diversification.

Partnerships

Working with the USA Economics Olympiad.

FFI partners with the USA Economics Olympiad to bring more guest workshops to students. Together we promote and co-host sessions led by economists and educators, so young people hear directly from the people who study this for a living.

Joint guest workshops will be announced here as they are confirmed.

What each side brings

Turnkey for the host, real work for us.

FFI

What we bring

Curriculum, facilitators, worksheets, and any slides or takeaways. We arrive early, set up, and run the session.

You

What your venue provides

A room, the students, and a projector if you have one. That is genuinely it. No budget, no prep, no paperwork from your side.

Why we start early

See the one idea every workshop is built around.

Slide the numbers. The point is not the exact figure, it is how much of the result comes from starting early rather than saving more.

A simplified example for learning, not financial advice. Real returns vary and are never guaranteed. We teach how compounding works, not which investments to pick.

Tell us about your group and we will tailor a session and find a date that works. A 10 to 15 minute call is usually enough.
